Over the last few weeks, we (or rather we paid for it, James and his crew did it) pulled out the carpet and flooring in living room, dining room, hall and entry and replaced it with a wood-looking laminate and rugs. We also had the whole area painted.
The carpet was not new when we moved in 24 years ago. Since that time, 4 kids and a succession of dogs and cats have peed, pooped and barfed on it along with a lot of spills and mud. It held up pretty well, considering.
We decided to just leave the fireplace as us. Still more to go, we're replacing the doors and molding in the hallway and putting in new gutters.
So, here's the dining and living room. I think it came out nice. I did not pose Teddy there, he just assumed the position.
Would the stock market please stop dropping...

I am with you on the stock market, Sandy. I just play with fake stocks on Kapitall and it is still depressing to lose fake money.
