Photoessay #1473 - Picnic Table

As part of the general sprucing up/remodeling efforts, we purchased a new picnic table. Characteristically, we didn't take action until our old one completely disintegrated and collapsed. Dennis thought that our previous picnic table had been left behind when Jim and Lanaya purchased their cabin at Tahoe in 1968. An old redwood table even then. Over 4 decades later including 27 years in the Seattle damp winters, it finally gave up the ghost though, if you look closely, you can see the remaining bench behind the new table holding up some pots.

We bought it from a guy who put a sign up in his front yard in Mountlake Terrace advertising picnic tables. Kind of run down place, he comes bustling out and promises to make us a custom table, six foot long, 5 boards wide with umbrella delivered the next day for $180. And, sure enough, it comes the next evening. Kind of big for the space.

But it's good, all good.

And that's Teddy there laying down in his characteristic 'twist the spine' fashion.

Today we will attend Alex and Megan's wedding which reads on the invitation "Alex, Megan and the Kids Invite you to JOIN OUR CIRCUS. Hope to get some good pictures. Susanna will be there to take care of the kids (who she used to nanny) and has recruited Naomi to help. Ilana admits that if she's not careful, she will also 'be dragged into that tractor beam".
