Tahoe

Dennis' family had a cabin on the west shore in a small subdivision in Tahoma.  In the late sixties, the moneyed kids in my high school went skiing at Lake Tahoe.  Dennis' parents thought this would be a great way to 'bring the family together.'  My parents didn't participate in this skiing thing.  Not that they weren't aware of their social standing or what people thought of them and their children.

At the time, there was a new subdivision of these new kind of homes called condominiums going up just across the state line in Nevada...called Incline Village.  Dennis' dad used to call their neighborhood Decline Village.

We looked for the cabin.  Dennis was pretty sure that it had been torn down and another more appropriate structure built.  Their place was really build for summer use and there were always plumbing and other problems.

We did some letterboxing there which usually took us to great places.  Including one that took us up, up, up the mountain.  Even though we really couldn't find the right street names.  But we ended up here in a brilliant landscape overlooking the lake.

Nothing like that high Sierra landscape!  And Lake Tahoe's brilliant hues.
