Just a few days before the ceremony, Naomi decided to attend her own graduation from Central Washington University. She actually graduated at the end of winter quarter. She borrowed a gown (originally belonged to a six foot guy) and talked her way in.
So today, Dennis and I went to graduation. Two and a half hours over the Cascades to Ellensburg. The graduation was so CWU/Ellensburg. Stiff wind blowing (duh, it's Ellensburg) and the whole affair was modest and unassuming. Like CWU. Sunshine while it's gray here on the westside. We went to the first session which was the School of Business and School of Education. The band played, the faculty walked in in their robes, the students filed in. They mentioned distiguished alumni that I had never heard of. They read everybody's name. Tons of family members on their modest football field in the bleachers. They thought they would be able to clear the venue for next session by noon. Not quite!
We decided to let Naomi find us rather than tackle the crowd. Here we are!
