Photoessay #2491 - Commercial Chihuly shot

Way back when, a week ago Thursday, at the beginning of the family wedding cavalcade, we went to the Chihuly Garden of Glass on the grounds of Seattle Center, right by the Space Needle.

I had mixed feelings about the place.  Why should we dedicate a part of the Seattle Center to this commercial artist?  However replacing the Fun Forest (a tacky carnival area) was no loss.  Both the indoors and the outdoors installations were very impressive.  In a knock you over dead kind of way especially the inside.  The outside parts were more interesting subtle sort of way.

A gimmick they have is to take your picture in one of the big inside sites and then you can redirect the photo to your email address.  Pretty slick.  You get an idea of the gaudy over the top nature of the inside exhibits.

The picture included those of us standing near each other at the time.  My brother Charlie, my granddaughter Melina, me, my sister Pam.

A few days later, Melina and I had a very positive Chihuly experience which I will tell later.

Believe it or not, I'm by myself right now.  For the first time in 12 days.  I won't go into the complicated schedule.
