Photoessay #2490 - Moms down the aisle
The mothers of the groom and the bride lead the wedding procession at my son's wedding last Saturday evening.
It wasn't part of the original plan; we added it ourselves. The groom's mom, that's me, was lobbying for it, not getting anywhere. Talked to Myla, the bride's mother and she wanted to do it too. So we teamed up and announced together that we were walking down the aisle.
Who's going to face that united front down? Nobody.
So, to make it easy, we announced that we were walking down together arm in arm. When we did it, we were saying to each other how wonderful this all was.
I know, she looks like she had Jessica when she was about two years old. I knew that going into it.
But my dress worked great and there I am in my strappy silver sandals.
