Photoessay #1887 - Shots from the U

Way back last month, we took Melina out for her birthday. We like to hang out at the University of Washington; always a lot to see. Plus we want Melina to know about it; that it could be a possibility that she could go there. She's only in fifth grade now so there's lots that could happen (Don't I know!). But her family would not have any reason to be on the UW campus. That's the day that we never finished. I had to go work at the football game. And Melina convinced Dennis to wait for the band and cheerleaders to come out when the football team enters. We did promise her something from the gift shop at the Burke Museum and some cupcakes.

I had received that hat as part of a breast cancer awareness thing at the football games. They gave them out to everybody and then said that they had used them for a number of years and we could keep them. So I gave mine to Melina, which she's wearing.

A clear but pretty chilly November day. On really good days, you can get a good clear picture of Mt. Rainier behind the fountain. But we were just looking around making our way to the football stadium. Every year, the engineering folks have a contest to see who can design the best way for the ducks to get into the pool around the fountain.

Second picture is a mallard who figured it out for himself. I just liked the picture.

Gave the gift-giving program last night in Redmond, tonight in Seattle so I've got to get busy!!
