Photoessay #1525 - Writing conference Sunday

Today was the last day of the Edmonds Writing Conference. Because I had some team meetings in the early evening and I had been gone most all of Friday, Saturday, Sunday, I skipped the last workshop and came home and had dinner with Dennis. Kinda' sad to miss it but I had gone to just about every thing. Met a lot of new writing buddies including all kinds of women who were looking for writing groups.

Went to many excellent workshops, today one on journaling, one on flash fiction and one on writing your hidden story. Going to the Non-Fiction workshop on Friday gave my six new friends to hang out with. Plus my writing teacher JoAnne who I always call Marilyn for some reason.

I had sent out my revised piece and I already see that one of my workshop participants (Jean) has already replied. I have soooooo much work to do after this conference.

I had never been to a writing conference. So happy to have the opportunity to go. Nearby, not too expensive, limited to 200 participants, mostly women and mostly older folks. But hey, that's me, right?

Most of the classes had writing exercises as part of the workshop. One of them in the Hidden Story workshop involved writing with your non-dominant hand starting with the prompt "I'm afraid...." Woo, woo, weird. OK, I'll try it. You use different parts of your brain and the results could be surprising. So, I've included my entry writing with my right hand. I just wrote whatever came to my mind and I think I did a pretty good job of being present and open with it. You might be able to decipher it. It turned out pretty dark and anxiety ridden. And used the word 'dusty'. Who knows what it means.

I've also included another view from the area around the Anderson Center. This time from the roof area overlooking the sound. Still some flowers first weekend in October.
