Photoessay #1524 - Writing conference

Today I attended the "Writing on the Sound" conference in Edmonds all day. Whew, I am not in shape! Fun! I hung out with my buddies from the non-fiction session the day before. I especially enjoyed the very last session of the day...Rebecca Morris, a journalist gave an extremely well prepared talk about Telling Fact from Fiction. I'm not sure many of the audience were ready for it. My year in the Memoir class plus
David Shield's book pretty much blasted the idea of the demarcation between fiction and non-fiction for me. But many just wanted some advice about how much you could elaborate. And there's no answer to that question.

She featured many of the recent "truth"? questions and many felt very hot about the issues (Three Cups of Tea, etc). But these dilemmas do not have easy answers or explanations. She also got into her latest book which concerns about a possible early murder by Ted Bundy involving tons of research. Who can know for sure, the evidence is 50 years old, she believes that Ted Bundy did commit the murder.

I know that she didn't have time for the whole presentation, I was real interested.

Also a shot of the view from the Anderson Center in Edmonds across the Sounds. The day felt like fall, cloudy, a little drizzly. The usual Puget Sound day
