Photoessay #1499 - Boskovich Farms

Today, at Costco, I just had to buy this bok choy. Why? I had just purchased some baby bok choy the day before at Ranch 99 (a huge Asian food marked, part of a chain).

Because it was Boskovich Farms, of course!

I've seen some Boskovich strawberries up this way a few years ago, but the baby bok choy was a new thing.

Beth Boskovich, daughter of George Boskovich Jr, played on the Universiyy of Oregon softball team a year ahead of Susanna. So we spent plenty of quality 'in the stands' time with her parents George and June. We suffered the wins (and losses) together as team parents do. I liked them, had good times, cheered the good times, bucked it up in the bad times.

I knew that they did some kind of produce farm thing but I was pretty vague on it. Actually it's a pretty big company. Dennis and I regret not flying down to LA when the team went to UCLA and missing their party when they hosted the team, staff and families.

But together we stressed through all those at bats and ground balls. During Beth's senior year, Beth played first most of the time, Susanna played second. They were one of the strongest infields in the Pac 10. Had those meaning of life discussions you do when you've spent long hours, rain delays, etc.

I found a picture of George on a website, he's looking good. Being a Pac 10 parents was a lot of fun and we meant some great people. Including George and June Boskovich.
