Photoessay #1157 - My cousin in Hawaii

Kinda dank and dark and chilly here. So, maybe I will return to Hawaii. Grateful to my cousin Lynn who lives near Kailua-Kona on the Big Island. She spent most of two days doing things with us. Going to a nice sand beach with that azure water. The second day, it poured rain but we did some siteseeing. I bought this map for $12 here in Seattle and it turned out toe be a Really Big Map.

Here Lynn and Pam make some plans for day 1 with the Big Map spread out on the table inside of our condo. I've stayed close to the B family. Just because I love all of them so much. I've visited and spent time. My siblings like them too but have just not kept up so much. Just occurred to me that they are both the babies of the families.

Nice kitchen, nice condo, worked out really well for us. Kona Makai consominiums in Kailua-Kona. Lynn recommended them for our stay as we wanted 3 bedrooms. Wonderful place and reasonably priced. I figured it was about $80/night apiece. Second shot was our view from our lanai. Looking right out into the ocean. The beach area is actually lava rocks. Of course, it's lava rocks. Everything is lava rock in Hawaii.

We ate breakfast, local fruit and yogurt, on the lanai every morning. Wonderful tropical fruit. Huge avacados!

Ilana is eagerly waiting for her boyfriend Matt to come back from North Carolina. She has not seen him since August. She must return the first week in January. But the horrible storm in the east, his flight out of Raleigh was canceled. So they're hoping hoping that he'll be able to get out of Raleigh tomorrow morning. Last year when he made this trip, it took him 3 days to get back!

Today, Dennis pulled my whole computer and desk out and cleaned everything out and rehashed all of the ports and the cords hanging everywhere. So much better!
