Photoessay #1122 - Thanksgiving #1

First Thanksgiving dinner is in the books on this cold day. After being so hot all day fussing with all that food, now I'm kinda cold. It's quite cold in Seattle, one of those arctic air things. Little bit of snow today but not much. But tomorrow will bring wind and we all know what that can mean...

But today was the dinner with Dennis' family, his two brothers, his mother and families. Also Matt, Ilana's boyfriend, came (sans Ilana because she's in Michigan) and his parents. Turned out Grandma Ann didn't make it, she didn't feel too well once she got going. Brian brought his juicer and made very yummy juices that also went really well with the sparkling cider. Melina came too. He set up in a corner and juiced away and, actually I never got a look at the juicer itself. We decided to go for the plywood in the living room approach which made one big table. Naomi helped a bunch. We used the good silver from my mother and also other silver items including a silver pitcher for Brian's juice and a gravy pitcher which actually belongs to Naomi. Made for more hand wiashing.

After dinner, we decided to move the plywood and the the leftover table became a lego venue for Matt, Susanna, Naomi and Melina.

All good. I forgot to do a group picture. First picture is the table with Matt and his stepfather Saha sharing the piano bench. You can see Susanna and Melina a little on the right edge. Second shot shows the underlying table now being used for legos.

Sorry that Grandma Ann could not come. Also Jannelle who will likely be here on Thursday.

Note to Pam--21 lb Turkey. At 8:10 this morning turkey and a ton of stuffing were thoroughly refrigerated. I really mashed that stuffing in. My over may be a little faster because it has this turbo-fan thing but it's not clear that it really does anything. Hit the over at 450 degrees, I immediately put down to 350. 8:10.
At noon, it was completely done, even used the meat thermometer. Less than 4 hours.
