Photoessay #1045 - Harstene Island

In a return trip (within two days) to the Ktsap Peninsula, we went to the annual Hartley family picnic at the waterfront cabin on Harstene Island. Or Harstine Island. And not completely clear that Harstene is technically part of the Kitsap Peninsula but it shows on the map on their tourist website so we'll call it good.

We invited Melina to go. She's up to doing anything with us these days. Fine with us! Danny decided to go also. Grandma Ann wanted a ride. And (voila!) we have a van full. Did I neglect to mention that dog Teddy was also in the mix? Yesterday we had to take the van because we were asked to transport wedding presents (which we did). And today, the van was full again. And I was the one who questioned Dennis a year ago "Why do we have still have to buy a van?". OK, OK, I was wrong.

Teddy LOVE the Harstene cabin especially when it involves a lot of people. True, he didn't get to go inside much but so many people to throw the ball! And water to wade in! And kids! And Sonny, uncle Alan's older Corgi, is good fun! Food scraps! It's GREAT!

Danny and Melina had a great opportunity to spend a nice afternoon together. Mostly laughing at each other's jokes and skipping rocks in the water. Picture shows the rock beach in front of the cabin along Pickering Passage (don't try to figure out Washington geography). Teddy's looking for a rock or a crab or something. He's got a very short coat and tries almost immediately. As soon as Teddy goes in the water, Sonny follows. And he's got long hair and low to the ground. But good clean (or not) fun. Danny and Melina enjoying from the beach.
