Photoessay #1044 - Jonathan's Wedding

Jonathan, one of my honorary 5th kids, got married today and we were privileged to attend. Venue was an unlikely place near Port Orchard, quite a drive away. Cedar Springs. But it was a beautiful spot, just set up for weddings. If you want an outdoor wedding and the weather cooperates. But it did.

We're the next door neighbors, I explained. And, back in the day, Jonathan spent a large proportion of his childhood in our house. Actually I made that deal with Cathy, his mom. For nearly 3 years. Susanna did all of her homework there and I did all after school care for Jonathan. He was over at my house anyway, so big deal.

But an accomplished young man with a bright future. He had big ideas EARLY. A UW graduate, a policy analyst with the government, also a commissioned officer in the Coast Guard. He spent 3 months this spring commanding a unit in Mississippi, working on the oli spill. Susanna's best buddy until she was about 12.

A lovely wedding. Susanna came with us, it's a trek from here about 70 miles. Bridesmaids wore black, lots of hydrangea colors, which gave a hint of fall
