Photoessay #1043 - Domestic Hazard
Teddy had a terrifying experience last night. Dennis went to a wrap-up meeting for the soccer tournament that the club put on a few weeks ago. He came home with a box of miscellaneous stuff (see picture 1). Envelope of leftover tournament pins, clipboard, some stuff other coaches were supposed to pick up, some small soccer cones, etc etc. He put the box on the old wood table next to his computer.
Check out the layout of the crime scene (picture 2). Soccer box on table next to dog bed occupied by dog with his ball (for comfort and security). In the evening, George, our big white cat who abhors the dog, lies down on the table usually on a computer cover. Next to Dennis.
So last night, when Dennis got up, George got up, the computer cover slid over into the soccer box. The soccer box slid off the table, upended the contents onto the dog's head. Dog previously snoozing quietly in his bed.
Dog jumps up, yipes, runs blindly off in terror and, all of the sudden, I have a sixty pound dog on my lap.
Poor Teddy! When we stopped laughing, we tried to comfort him but he's plenty wary. You never know when a box of stuff is going to hit you!
