Photoessay #1026 - Soccer Registrar
Who's that registrar for the Celebrate Shoreline Soccer Classic tournament taking place on this warm Pacific Northwest weekend? Why it's Dennis, of course! Manning his registration table late yesterday afternoon at the Shoreline A/B fields. The tournament included 67 teams in 8 divisions in fields all across Shoreline. besides the Shoreline A and B fields, games took place in Shoreline Stadium, the Utility field (between the Stadium and Shoreline B, Kellogg middle school, Shorecrest high school (2 fields), Einstein middle field, Twin Ponds, Paramount Park, North City school and I probably missed a few. A huge undertaking for an undermanned board. Dennis has been working, working, working on this. Designed as a rec, low select level, nonetheless, the tournament attracted some higher level select teams were playing. Melina and I helped for awhile late in the afternoon. Mostly we gave away too many pins and gave confusing directions to the other fields. Melina scored a bright orange STAFF t-shirt. Doesn't the registrar get to give away a shirt to his granddaughter?
Yhe usual confusions and complaints but mostly everything seemed to move along. Teams played, goals scored. He worked there most of today...
