Photoessay #1012 - Chem demonstration

Many of the departments and organizations at Washington State University stage events for Mom's Weekend. One of the more popular (Dennis went to a similar event for Dad's Weekend) is the Chemistry Department demonstration. Where they mostly blow things up and turn things weird colors. Explosions mainly.

Held in an extremely vertical lecture hall, this event draws a good crowd. A shot of the nervous undergraduate assistants who will do the actual work before the event. Those balloons? They're full of all kind of crazy chemical gases that will explode in different colors. If it works right. Which it doesn't always. At least one things did not explode like it was supposed to during this demonstration. It exploded, just not when they thought.

Last shot shows something glowing because of something.
