Photoessay #1011 - Elevator

That darn Washington State University campus. The buildings are sited close together, intense. On a big hill. Or several hills. Whatever, stairs DOMINATE this campus. Lots and lots of stairs. I have no idea how a handicapped person could deal with all of the stairs.

And me, the old feeble mom, I complain all the time. Every time, we have to go up or down any more of those darn stairs, I kvetch and moan. It's too hard, I don't like all these stairs, I'm not going there, you can just forget it, etc etc

Naomi is very patient and was always trying to figure out how to get from here to there without going up and down. Even at 1am. OK, she's 20 years old, I'm not.

Also, it's a known fact...on the WSU campus, wherever you want to go, at any time, is uphill by a lot.

So what's this?

An elevator. No kidding. Whoever thought this monstrosity up was a GENIUS! It's between the student union and the football field. kinda. And not far from Naomi's dorm. Go up this thing, and you are now on the level of the CUB (student union) and many things are downhill from there. Yes!

Except sometimes it doesn't work and then you have to go up all those stairs.

Or you complain about it a lot and Naomi thinks of some other way.
