Mom's Weekend at Washington State University in Pullman was in full swing today. Events all over the campus for little or no cost. Lots of undergraduates with moms in tow
Naomi has been a great host, it's worked really well.
We were gone from around 9:30 this morning until 7pm this evening.
Last night we went to the improvisational theatre Nuthouse Improv (Query: How's everybody feeling tonight? Answer: Catamaran!!!) 11pm. We struggle down there get there 15 minutes early. Sold out. They're checking for a few empty chairs but they're sending people away. Sold Out. But we hang out for awhile and finally one of the ushers comes out "Anybody with just two people?" "Me! Me!" I sing out shamelessly and we got in. Apparently all of the players were there and they went extra long for Mom's Weekend. We didn't get out of there until 1am and then had to walk home.
Remember my goal is to not get over-tired plus everything is massivle uphill from wherever you are.
But today we went to:
The Chemistry demonstration where they blow lots of stuff up. Every seat in the hugely vertical auditorium filled. Even more than Dad's Weekend. Go Moms!
The Botany greenhouses...pretty
The Biology Museum which mostly has lots of stuffed animals
Walk to Ferdinands, the special ice cream place for cheese and ice cream made right here at WSU. Line massively long, went to the little outside part, sort of in the warehouse and bought Grabbers, lots of ice cream for lunch
Went to one of the campus dining rooms to meet up with Naomi's friend Alisa
Walked back to theatre building early to snag tickets the "Barefoot in the Park". We didn't need to be that early but the performance did sell out. Met up with Naomi's friend and future apartmentmate Lucy/Cara.
Saw the play...ambiguous ending plus a throwback attitude towards alcohol.
Brent, another future apartmentmate with his mom joined the party. We walked over to the apartment complex, found the one they will have. Guess what, basement apartment!
I'm more than shot by this point but Lucy/Cara fired up Mr. Buick and we went and ate at a nice Italian place in downtown Pullman where we ate a bunch of carbs and then she took us back to Naomi's dorm
Whew, is that enough? We are NOT attending the headliner show, Jay Leno.
Mom's Weekend....
The Ducks beat Cal AGAIN today, Go Ducks!
