I really like this picture for so many reasons. The subjects have had profound relationships with each other throughout their lives with some serious disruptions and interruptions. Life is long, so much room for pain, bitterness and renewal. I won't divulge the details, I'm sure I don't even KNOW half the details anyway.
But this illustrates an apparently relaxed and warm moment during a recent gathering. To me, the expressions and body language imply pleasure in some shared reminiscence. An xmas card from a long ago time? An acknowledgment and reclamation of kinship? The parties might not have believed that this could happen; possibly some healing in the air?
But ordinary really.
I also like the strong diagonal line.....
