Photoessay #984 - Happy 50th!

Today, my sister in law Loreen had a birthday party for family and some friends to celebrate Dennis' brother Dave's 50th birthday. Loreen purchased one of those big Costco carrot cakes with some method. She was determined to have 50 candles blazing. The gird pattern on the top of the cake was 8x6. 48 squares, buy a big '5' and a big '0' and put a candle in each square.

Loreen accepted my self-appointed assistance to help her light all those candles. We determined that we should put the candles on the cake then light them with another lit birthday candle. I took the left, Loreen the right side and we set to it. A bit of a slow start and Loreen had to light some of the candles on my side. One of those tasks that take a lot of concentration for a short time, but then we've got it done.

Costco cake lit up with 50 candles! Real drama! First shot, Loreen and I put the cake on the counter as celebrants gather. Second shot, Dave gets ready to blow out the candles as we all sing the traditional song.
