Snow forecasted for Rockford

My mom's been pretty agitated and uncomfortable for much of the day. She got an iv pain treatment so if finally resting quietly. She's scrunched on one side of the bed on a high inflated mattress so I'm sitting right by the bed just to make sure that she doesn't fall out. I hope I can get her to eat some of her dinner a bit later.

Winter storm warning forecasted to start later this evening. My mom's house is a block or so off a main street and it's less than 2 miles straight shot to the hospital. They plow things regularly here and my mom's car has snow tires. But I don't want to be the one to wreck my mom's car. So we'll see what happens, I can likely get a ride from someone at Wesley Willows. I keep running into Brian, one of the chaplains and he says that he can drive me if it comes to that! We'll see what happens.

I did a little bit of panic buying at the store but my mom has tons of food really in the freezer, etc. I've done amazingly well with my eating plan here. It's just that one tin of leftover xmas cookies that I can't stay away from.

I was hoping to get a picture of one of the 'stations' at the hospital cafeteria. Marked 'world', it supposedly had asian cuisine. Rockford style. A big pan of beef stew marked 'Chop Suey', canned water chestnuts and something that looked like jojos. I think everything looks like jojos here. Miss my Pacific rim city. The folks at the dumpling house would be apalled.

Still here in Rockford.....

Update--When my mom woke up, she was as good as I've seen her. She wanted to sit on the edge of the bed, ate almost her entire dinner (!) and chatted away. I could tell she was feeling better as she started getting on my case "When was the last time you washed that scarf? I want you to wash it tonight when you get home!" etc etc. Yup, that's my mom

As of 11:30 pm, the snow is beginning to fall....
