A positive event for today...my mom's doctor called me and invited me to come to his office to talk about my mom's condition. Which I did, he spent nearly 1/2 hour with me. Very knowledgeable about my mom and her challenging medical conditions.
Most upsetting was this evening when her pain went just off the charts and it took 20minutes for her to get her IV pain shot. Just awful. Twenty minutes is a long long time when you are hurting THAT bad. And the IV stuff she's getting is very strong. It was good that she hadn't really needed the strong IV narcotic for most of the day but when it got bad, it got REAL bad.
It's very cold here, in the single digits. But yesterday and today have been sunny and dry. Driving not a problem. Thursday, it's supposed to snow a ton and though the hospital is just down the main road less than two miles away, I don't want to be the one to wreck my mom's car. I keep running into one of the Wesley Willows chaplains at the hospital and he says he will give me a ride on Thursday if I need it.
