The good news is that the really hot weather has not arrived. The bad news is that it was cool and rainy when I got up this morning. Which seems like about 3 weeks ago. That would be ok but I was expecting sunny and 96 degrees. So wasn't prepared and was cold and wet. The promised heat wave is coming. Before I left Seattle I bought this fan that I will give to Naomi. I'm glad I have it.
This program is too long for parents. Seems like endless sessions on facets of university life based on material they already provided for us in the book. LOts of walking around. Naomi, who currently is signed up for a single room, wants to keep it based on her short term roommate here. They don't like each other, supposedly the roommate complained non-stop and then talked on her cell phone for most of the night.
They keep the parents busy but you really don't have to do everything. They keep the kids even busier. You don't really see your kid as they have everything scheduled a different time including meals. Naomi has complied with everything. Myself, I've missed things here and there. They had an aerobic walking tour and a non-aerobic walking tour. Somebody asked me which tour I had done and I replied the nap tour. The parents are generally very friendly and like making connections. Everybody cordial.
I grabbed Naomi after the night program and we made a run to the walmart in Moscow Idaho. Terrible patronizing Walmart but not a lot of other possibilities. We bought some standard dorm room stuff, comforter, towels, laundry basket, desk lamp etc.
Part of tomorrow's craziness involved late night extra trip to River Ranch. I was throwing a fit about driving up the Cielo Hill in the dark. Dennis and Ilana initially annoyed. But later Dennis said he would deliver her to River Ranch early the next morning which will make things easier on me. It will be hard even with that assistance.
Mom's and Dad's weekends are really bit deals here. I like Pullman and the campus but I doubt it will have the same pull as Eugene.
Naomi working on her classes. Many are already full. It will work out
