Photoessay #727 - Norman's last class

I've been taking a deep water aerobics at a community pool for over two years. Last week, our instructor Norman taught his last class. He's just turned 20, I've been with him since he started (not even 18). I know he counts on me (actually my friend Julia even more) as veteran class members. But he always seems to like his 'fat old ladies', he's always there to teach the class. We're like his aunties, we advice him generally, sometimes even on affairs of the heart. One day he and I spent the whole time trying to think of the name of the bone in the upper arm.

He works as a medical asst in the local hospital emergency room. So we often hear what's going on there. Also lives with his grandfather. He needs that Tuesday, Thursday evening to work at the hospital and to help with his grandfather. He quit once before but was back before long. We teased him that he missed us too much. Norman has many talents and will find success in whatever he does. A warm heart and a willing helper. He's working on his nursing training as well as haz mat work.

The group posing in the hot tub after Norman's last class. A drop-in class so you never quite know who will come. Norman declared that everybody got in free during his last class. I took him up on it!
