This picture shows a long time Pac 10 football coach that has now assumed the roles of Athletic Director at a major school. They will not be renewing the softball coach's contract and are searching for a new coach. Dennis and I have some strong concerns about a possible replacement. Really strong concerns.
Dennis and I wrote this new AD specifically about a rumored applicant and our worries. Risky, because, you must know that the parents of athletes and certainly parents of past athletes have little standing about such decisions. Actually none. You are to sit in the stands and cheer and write checks when requested.
But we sent the email. We would be negligent not to. As I sent it yesterday, Dennis asked "What's the probability we will hear back on this" "Slim to none" we both agreed.
But I got a thoughtful post from this AD today saying that they knew about the allegations. Ending with "I also want to assure you that the health and welfare of our student-athletes is our main concern".
Wow.
I am stunned. And pleased. I'm a fan, that's for sure!!!

Does that leave room for rejoicing? I hope that last statement rings true and they don't turn to that rumored applicant.
