Photoessay #683 - Another beach glimpse

One of those Edmonds pictures I just keep going back to. This shot taken last Sunday on our trip to the dog beach. Lots of visitors; people and dogs. Beautiful weather and soft light. Actually late afternoon in late April along Puget Sound. Some dogs like to swim; some don't. Teddy got his feet wet once and that was it for him. Others would have jumped right in. That northwest water is COLD!

People and dogs quite calm. Nancy and I sat on some driftwood with Daisy and Teddy basically on top of us. The water and sky also calms me. Once you're there, it doesn't really occur to you why you would leave.

The soft light distinguishes the Pacific Northwest from California. I grew up in Sacramento in the Central Valley with harsh brilliant light and those long fiery hot summers. Sometimes I mist that bright illuminating light. But now much. Don't know if the color of the light is different but it could be.

Definitely would like to go again. But not this weekend; Teddy has instructions for no puppy ramgaging for seven days. The sand and activity of the dog beach would not be good for dog who recently had his surgery.

Replace two lost letterboxes, have a few more to go.

First though, we will go see the Oregon Washington softball game in a little while. You know how it is with these afternoon Pac 10 games. You wait around until it starts to rain...

Edit, doesn't this picture just cause your eye to be drawn to the pearlescent sky and horizon to the right. To some unknown land?
