Photoessay #682 - Go Scots

Beautiful afternoon, warm even. Towards the end of the softball season. Why not go to the Shorecrest game at 4? Coach Suzie will be there. Besides, Shorecrest is on a roll. Before Wednesday, the Scots were 0 and a lot. They hadn't won a single game. The games often ended in a mercy score against them. But Wednesday, Dennis went to the Edmonds-Woodway and Shorecrest won 4-1. Whoo hoo! They celebrated at Baskin Robbins with the 31 cent ice cream cones. And today, they've already turned off the scoreboard, but the final score was Shorecrest 15, Mariner 1. Yup that's right, Shorecrest won by the mercy rule. It's a winning streak! They were hitting the snot out of the ball, everything was going their way. Mariner did have two 'innings from hell'

But that young team was pretty darn pumped up. The shot features the team meeting at the end with players and coaches.

And you have to admit, Shorecrest field can have the prettiest views. Sometimes. But you also very cold with that wind whipping over the hill. "We freeze our opposition out" I confided to one parent of an opposing player.
