Photoessay #656 - Cornell 1947
When I was at my mother's house, I scarfed up this picture that was laying around. I'm thinking this was in 1997, my parents went to the Cornell reunion (that would be 50 years). But it could have been a different year. That would have been a number of years before my father got ill (his period of poor health 2001-2007). Al and Claire are easy to pick out. Just a row above the numbers, right there in front.
My father always valued his time at Cornell. He used it as his password across the street. In his final illness, he insisted that he was going to go make the 60th reunion, that he was going to drive to Ithaca from Rockford in his new Lexus. Right. My mother said she wasn't going.
Alas, he was unable to do so.
