Photoessay #512 - Proud Mary

Hope never dies! Never too late!

All kinds of communities built on the web. For weeks now, I've been listening to Decemberists songs and covers. Driving my family nuts.

On Youtube, everybody can be a recording artist. One of my favorite Decemberists covers is "Sons and Daughters" performed by 4 teenagers, it looks like it's grandma's living room. The young man on the piano runs the show, he's got his little brother sitting on the floor playing bass who kinda loses interest from time to time. Youtube is full of folks in their dorm rooms belting out their favorites.

These musicians record for each other. Apparently a few days ago, one artist declared it 'Credence Clearwater Revival week' and invited all interested to post their covers. At least 45 people responded so far. This group is a little older, these folks set up the video camers in their rec room or their bedroom. Armed with their guitar, they do these songs justice.

Here's my favorite of the hundreds of versions of Proud Mary on Youtube. I haven't watched ALL of them. But this couple just cheered me up so. Invest 2 1/2 mintues and watch their upbeat version of Proud Mary; you might be smiling at the end!
