Photoessay #501 - Dinner party

Last night Dennis and I went to a real dinner party. All guests (4 couples) knew each other through a parenting group that I belong to. Felt like maybe the first real adult 'dinner party' I've been to. All guests educated and over 50. Fun and good looking too. Lots of lively conversation and a delicious dinner. As could have been predicted, the groups split on gender lines after supper at the long table. Fine with me! Though I like all the men quite a bit. This group, which often deals with difficult parenting problems attracts the nicest people.

We rumbled down there (not far away) on the chains and we needed them on our street and theirs. All reported that they had not had their mail or papers delivered much in the last week.

I forgot my camera, so don't have any pictures of the event. One of the guests is a well-known photographer with the local paper. I hadn't realized that his picture was on the front page of the paper, missed it so I realize now that I had said something stupid. I would feature one of his pictures on the blog. Usually I have no reluctance to lift a photograph and use it without permission. But it's somebody I know this time. Not that my blog gets much into the double digits in readership. So I won't.

Instead I will use a beautiful picture that the hosts sent to me when I was more involved with the city daily blog. A winter view (in another winter) taken from their deck. Pretty nice view over the lake, no?
