Naomi having a picnic lunch in the backyard, does she look about 3 years old maybe? 1992 or 1993? Hey, the backyard looked pretty good then. Maybe a nice day in the spring? The grass is green but no leaves on the apple tree. The lawn consists mostly now of dandelion and moss. Occasionally so sort of grass looking something. The deck (you can see some repairs already) finally died the death of all decks in the northwest and has been replaced. Don't have those cool benches though, forgot aboutthose.
I think Naomi decided to have her own little picnic and I likely packed up the lunch box. But her constant companion, the constant companion of all of our kids....Frank. Frank, a stray tabby, had moved in with us in our old North City house mainly because we had a new baby. Frank cared deeply about the kids. He accompanied them wherever they went. He always allowed himself to be toddlerized, anything a kid did to him was fine. Drag him around by his hind leg, give him a ride in a toy car, stick their finger in his ear? All fine. A cat all cats can be proud of, Frank took care of all four kids his entire life. He watched over everybody.
