Photoessay #473 - The Kid's Table

The 4x8 sheet of plywood sitting on our kitchen table covered with lace table cloths filling up our living room becomes the Kid's Table. Self-titled by the occupants, the 'Kids' range in age from 8 to 27, most being over 20. Lots of young adults here, soon they will be establishing their own households and having their own Thanksgivings. Interesting to note, of the 10 'kids' from 4 families, 6 are of Asian heritage.

We had two tables, one in the living room, one in the dining room with no assigned seating. I wondered how it would all play out. But it went very smoothly and all of the young people wanted to sit together, yup, there was a 'Kids Table'. Directed chaos in the kitchen. Plenty of food, interesting the dish that brought repeated requests for more was Emily's green salad. Who would have thought that?

The desserts were especially, Jerry's three level pumpkin cheesecake, Emily's pecan pie, Perry's pumpkin pies. Delicious and a very good time!
