Photoessay #433 - Fish and Chips

I really enjoy going to White Rock in the summertime, the beach town just across the Canadian Border. Long beachfront on Boundary Bay, beautiful pier, two stretches of beach shops on the main drag selling gelato and souveneirs.

And fish and chips. Lots of fish and chips. This is our favorite, Coney Island, the pieces of fish are HUGE. Here Gin is buying our lunch. In recent years, we have split a triple and it's too much. We could do splitting a double. The pieces of cod probably measure 6 by 8 inches APIECE, add a bunch of french fries, dribbled with garlic vinegar and smothered with tartar sauce. Mmmm, feels real going down, not as good a few minutes later.

We enjoy going across the street and finding a place to eat along the promenade overlooking the beach. A lot of extended Canadian families of various ethnic origins like to gather at the beach, often with elaborate picnics and cooking going on.

Feels different, warm and peaceful. I love to visit White Rock.
