Photoessay #248 - Back from the midwest

I'm back! I'm back! I'm always so glad to land safely in Seattle, I feel like kissing the tarmac, I'm so glad to be back. Five day total trip to Indiana and Illinois. Visiting my sister and my mom with my brother thrown in for good measure. It's always so tiring to do that whole travel thing. Problem with Northwest Airlines is you can't go direct so it's running around those intermediate airports, finding out the gate for your next plane is about a million gates away.

Cold in the midwest but I personally was never very cold even though the first few days were quite frigid. The first morning, my sister informed me that the wind child was -21. Saw some very cold students at Purdue. The whole tour of Lafayette, IN. But I had good personal support from our neighborhood cab driver (who let me pay him, YES), my sister picking me up and then driving us to Rockford, my brother taking me back to OHare, my husband picking me up at the airport (such a luxury). So I was fine.

Good pictures too. This one, is just characteristic of midwest snow and driving... Taken yesterday on our way back from the glass shop.

Could be any small town in the midwest after a snow fall. Grey day, grey snow, grey sky! Very different than Seattle Blue and Green!!
