Photoessay #23 - Ilana takes the plunge
This photo was from last Labor Day on a trip to White Rock, BC with our friends Perry and Laura Garrison. Seems appropriate because today we are going to the Garrisons for a barbecue honoring the graduation of their son Paul from high school and Ben from University of Washington. We are also planning (at least) a day trip to White Rock in a few weeks for Canada Cup.
I love White Rock! I love Canada Cup! I'm sorry that Susanna is not playing in general but, sigh, these are her decisions. I will post more White Rock pictures. I will take more White Rock pictures. (aside) White Rock is a beach community just on the other side of the Canadian border. Great beach, whole bunch of ice cream and fish and chip shops, cute bed and breakfasts, sunny, a whole different feel less than two hours away.
It was a warm sunny day and Perry walked out on the pier with Ilana and Naomi. Perry dared Ilana to jump in. That's all it took. Ilana jumps into the Strait of Georgia. Fully clothed but she doesn't care. Naomi (in pink shirt) would watch but Ilana is the one who jumps. She was pleased with herself and did not complain about her wet clothes for the rest of the trip.
I'm partnering this with another picture of Ilana taking the plunge. Several years ago (3? 4?), she went on a weeklong canoeing trip with her girl scout trip up into some lakes in the north. (What lakes? I don't know). They jumped off a cliff into the lake. yes, it's a legitimate big time cliff. No fooling around! Scout trips can be exciting.

Hehe I'm always plunging into things, aren't I?
Doing her own thing! Sounds like her Mom!
