Dennis and I recently went on a little trip to Lyle a small town on the Washington side of the Columbia River. All the tourist stuff is on the Oregon side. We've been there so we didn't go there. Three nights in a tiny town, Lyle, has one small grocery store and one Chinese takeout place. But we took the dog and found a place that was dog friendly. Great backyard.
We went down the road to see what we could see. Found Horse Thief Lake State Park that had a sign that said Native American Petroglyphs. How could we miss that? So lots of petroglyphs (example above) from around the area. Displayed in conjunction with the local tribes.
And we had the Columbia River. And we had wind. Lots of kite-boarding on the Columbia which we say later.
