Change of plans for xmas eve dinner
So, for the last xx years, we have participated in a time-honored tradition. Chinese food for Christmas Eve. For a long time, we went to a medium sized neighborhood restaurant. They were open but there wasn't too many people there.
Times change.
This time, when we got there, it was packed and more coming all the time. They seated us in a back room. The rest of the good-sized room was apparently taken up by a large extended family having a big LOUD party. People kept streaming in, bringing in drinks from the bar. Which made it even louder. We were there an hour, had put in our order but it didn't look like things were going to quiet down. They were so slammed. Ilana had an idea, why not get it 'to go?' Hmm, pretty good idea. Susanna went to make the negotiations. It worked. We ended getting it as takeout and ate it at home.
So here we are eating our takeout. Ilana must have taken the picture.
Maybe the Thai restaurant next year
