According to NPR
According to the Texas Civil Rights Project, which has been able to speak with detained adults, multiple parents reported that they were separated from their children and not given any information about where their children would go. The organization also says that in some cases, the children were taken away under the pretense that they would be getting a bath.and, in regard to older children,
ORR says children remain at these shelters for "fewer than 57 days on average." However some children have been kept detained for months longer than that, and some advocates say certain facilities improperly administer psychotropic medications. So that top paragraph, the ending sentence, what does it remind you of? Yes, the employees of the Nazi death camps told those exhausted injured people who arrived that they would have a bath, gave them a towel and a stone bar of soap and led them into the gas chambers. I'm not saying that the government is killing children. But they are building concentration camps, places where they concentrate people so the authorities has everybody together for the next step.
Consider my mother's second cousin, Lothar Baumann, age 16, who was seized and separated from his parents in Amsterdam in July 1942. He died at the death camp Sobibor in September 1942. Keep him in mind. I always try to keep him in mind.
These children are being seized and separated from their parents. They cannot possibly have a plan for getting those thousands of children back to their parent. Attorney General Sessions says it's "a deterrent." As in, enter the US and we will steal, we will traffic your little children. They claim they give out flyers. But many coming in cannot read English or Spanish.
That second paragraph, are the authorities drugging teenagers to keep them quiet? Is this what OUR country is doing?
Trump is trying to say that the gang members are using the children as a way to enter the country. Does he really expect me to believe that? Are there gang members? Yes. Is everybody, especially mothers and children, gamg members?
The (maybe) silver lining is that under press scrutiny, the Trump Administration may have met its match, They have gone too far and his ''double down" method defense may fail him. Ask any social service agency how hard it is to keep track of children with uncertain status. Then disappear the parents (via deportation). Then try to justify to the parents and the children why their civil rights have grievously violated because of a misdemeanor. See how far that gets you? No, don't because the price is way way too high.
