Distinctive Nathan Eckstein

One good thing about Nathan Eckstein (1873-1945), he's so distinctive looking that you can always identify him in pictures.  He married a Schwabacher daughter and ran part of the Schwabacher grocery business.  One interview I did, part of the extended family, claimed that he ran the grocery business into the ground.  I don't know but he was active in the community, helped build the old sanctuary.  A middle school in North Seattle is named after him.  Many people I know had kids that went to Eckstein Middle School.  But, like the rest of us, don't know about him.

I went down to the MOHAI library the other days to look at some Schwanacher/Eckstein pictures.  This one jumped at me.  Definitely Nathan Eckstein.  What's he doing with all of these flowers?  Did he win a lot of prizes at a show.  Is he putting on a show?  A funeral?  I think "Happy Home" and "Gold Shield" were Schwabacher house brands.
