Villa Lucerne

I am still working on my endless research projects.  I get this feeling from the universe that I am not looking at all the Schwabacher/Eckstein pictures.  So I look up the online UW special collections site.  And I see two Joanna Eckstein photo collections.  Two?  I look at one and it contains things I have not seen before but most are not online.  Then I see that the logo at the top is MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry) not UW.

What?  Maybe they are just putting things up on Archives West?  Maybe?  Interesting.  They have a special library.  I know the drill.  You go down to Georgetown, they let you look at pictures.  You give them money.

There are a few pictures online.  I think this is Villa Lucerne?  Yeah, it's labeled Bailey Gatzert summer home.  Babette Gatzert had a summer home on Lake Washington and she would invite here sisters in law from San Francisco to visit at Villa Lucerne at the turn of the twentieth century.  Doesn't this look like Lake Washington waterfront, doesn't look like Puget Sound.  It was sold around 1913 to another family.  But I've wondered about it.  Still don't know where it was.  But I this is it?

I will make an appt to go down and look at this pictures.

See what happens when you have time to really look into things?
