I admit it ... I'm a fan.
Especially it's a women's show. So many films or shows do NOT pass the Bechdel Test (a named woman character speaks to another named woman character and not about a man).
Usually, there's A woman character who works with a man or is a love interest. That's it.
This BBC show, based on a memoir of a midwife in late 1950s London has almost exclusively women characters. The nuns, the midwives, the mothers, etc. Very few men characters. There's the steady doctor who's about to become a love interest, a trusted handyman, a constable.
Great writing and acting with women's themes throughout. Three seasons exist. I've now watched most of the second season. I've had to learn to use our TV (don't laugh) and the Roku box to watch them.
Striong female characters. I love it. Found this nice publicity photo of most of the cast including babies.
