Photoessay #2890 - July 4 picnic dogs

Teddy says to himself "My paws are bleeding and I'm limping.  Must have been a great day at the cabin!"

Here's Teddy along with his cousin dog Shelby (same age, 5 years) poised, ready to chase the ball about to be thrown.  Each dog did have their own ball so no disputes.  Shelby lives in a winery/vineyard in central California.  She is used to running the place.  It works fine because she feels like she's the boss and Teddy knows he is dominant to nobody.

Both dogs are, um, an interesting mix.  Heinz 57.

But he does like to chase the ball, take a dip in the Sound.  Great meal put on the table plus a bunch of barbequing.  And you know how it is with these old people, they drop stuff.  He's not supposed to go inside the cabin according to SOME people.  But it's so easy to get in especially with so many people going in and out and Aunt Eliza doesn't mind.

A great time all around for the dogs of summer.

The image is a bit over-exposed.

Teddy's sleeping it off.  Always takes him a few days to recover.
