Photoessay #2817 - JJ in the redwoods

Time to get back to those beloved redwoods.  Remember, it was just last weekend that I took that trip to Santa Cruz just before my life blew up with Naronikka's death.

Rediscovering and remembering a bit about that long ago time when we were all perfect and so so imperfect living together at Crown College starting in 1970.

Part of the allure was the spectacular setting.  What can compare to the redwood forest looking across rolling hills to Monterey Bay?  Nothing!  Nothing!  As I've said many times, I felt that I lived in the most beautiful place in the entire world.  I still feel that way.

We went to a session about oral history at the main library.  I snapped this picture of JJ in the plaza right in front of McHenry Library.

The whole place looked like this, gorgeous light-filled redwood forest.  Coming from the semi-arid central valley, it looked heavenly to me.

We're having a good time.  Thanks for the great weekend JJ.

And now back to this neighborhood of sorrow.  The thing about somebody dying, especially a young person is that they (well all of us but especially young people) are eternally (in this case) sixteen years old.  They never develop further.  Her friends will turn seventeen but she never will.  I feel that even with just a week going by...
