We'll stay in the same part of the world. Charl's trip to Vienna over the last few weeks.
Here, in his own words is his narration of the picture:
Ok – You are in Vienna, Austria and all around you
see extraordinary buildings, palaces, fountains and parks, most of which
are older than our country has been in existence. After all for
several hundreds of years (give or take a handful) this was one of the
centers of world leadership, society and music.
It does have everything. I had to make the picture so much smaller. Somehow Blogger stopped resizing pictures. Super annoying. And if you go inside some of these edifices the interior architecture and appointments rivals or exceeds anything in the world. So what does one lowly amateur photographer (with limited time) from the Midwest do ? Remember, we get excited by cornfields …Too much to comprehend, too much to capture. Too much of too much. What to do … What to do …So why not take one iconic shot that sums in all up. A sort of “Here it is, take it or leave it” shot.Never mind if it doesn’t make a lot of sense, That is for others who know and care a whole lot more about this.So …Here is my iconic shot of some of the “world’s finest” Interior Architecture (Interior Architecture 8737).It’s got nearly everything: color, angles, arches, door frames, moldings, carvings, ceilings, balconies, columns, railings, frescos and even a cherub.
I spent almost the entire day on a 'light runthrough' of the scrapbook paper. All darn day, screwing with it. How could I not see that numbers didn't add up? Using an imperfect excel file, I refigure and refigure and don't have a bit of confidence that I got it right.
I'm still with the Baumann family, heard last night from a guy who works on the Jews from Schmeiheim. He might even be related. How much can you expect your grandparents to keep track of their first cousins?
