Photoesssay #2894 - Best use of my time

I lost my job of 14 years over 3 years ago.  And I have not bothered to find another.  Why did they choose to no longer employ me?  I dunno, I can think of many reasons.  I was told many times that I made 'too much money'; that my hourly rate was more than anybody else's.  The irony (among many) was that it wasn't that high at all ($18/hr).  But they could get young people in upstate New York to work at a much lower rate.

If you do the math, you will see that I wasn't making much money at all.  So my weakness becomes a strength.  If you don't make much money, then you don't miss it much when it was gone.  That's how it was.  My husband got some raises and it just didn't matter any more.

Whoa, whoa, not working?  What can that be about?  Just walk away from the work world?

But I've passed that 60th  birthday (and more).  So the question becomes, what is the best use of my time?  Working a job is NOT the best use; even working as gameday staff for UW sports.  It had its appeal but I can use my time better.

Reading and writing;; those were the important things.  And I've REALLY enjoyed being an access student at UW.  I need to finish the scrapbook paper.  I can use my time for things more important to me.  I don't need to stand for endless hours at the football stadium.

Plus I still have time with my granddaughter Melina and everybody else that comes in and out around here.

I have plenty to do. Picture from a fan site, somehow it seemed to fit my theme.
