Photoessay #2864 - Ilana's library
When we were in Indiana, Ilana gave us a tour of her library where she works. It had been redesigned right before she got her job just about a year ago. Full of collaborative learning spaces and places for people to do work with other people.
She said that the main complaints they get are about not enough seating which they interpret as their design being a success. More people want to use the space as it was designed.
The idea is not to have reference librarians but teach information literacy. Ilana just finished up teaching her first college class and she found that she really liked teaching. A good thing!
An impressive place and a great job for Ilana at a major midwest university.
