Photoessay #2820 - Rep Meeting

I'm now the 'Rep Resources Person' for Parent Group.  I agreed to hold meetings for the Chapter Representatives.  Periodically.  Generally support things.  I think the Board would have liked me to oversee the reps but that would mean way more night meetings.  My idea in passing over the rep duties in Seattle was to avoid some of those meetings.

I was kinda nervous.  I don't know why.  For some reason there is no rep in one of our major groups.  A big deal actually.  But we had good attendance and a cohesive meeting.  One of the things we had to do was to assemble orientation packets.  All the parts were ready thanks to Colleen on the far right, our administrative GENIUS.

So while we are having our meeting, the members are listening and getting those packets together.  We made 150!  And everybody grabbed them for their own groups too.  Later, a few more people came, two Board members.  I started out doing something a bit risky and it almost didn't work.  I invited to introduce themselves in some detail, why they were at the group, just more than "I'm Sandy and I've from the Seattle group".  But it took a really long time, like the first hour.

But people liked it.  We talked about our groups.  We talked about the job descriptions.  I metnioed the two different relationships between two positions.  With the idea that both approaches could work.

Later a few other people came including some board members.  I liked the atmosphere;; I felt that people were engaged.  I asked when we should meet again 2 months, 3 months, longer?  Two months everybody said.
