Naomi is going to Macao (part of China) next fall as part of a Central Washington University program. As part of her training as an elementary school teacher, she does a six week practicum and a quarter of student teaching. Instead of doing her practicum with a school in Ellensburg (rural central Washington town), she will be working at Huo Kong Middle School on the island of Taipa. She will help English in this private school.Really interesting opportunity. When I heard about it, I encouraged her to go for it. The school will pay fo rpart of her airfare and provide her a place to live. She had been determined to do some study abroad and was considering a 4 week education-oriented program in Scotland.
