Photoessay #1577 - Rich and poor

I submit to you these facing pages of todays Northwest magazine section of the Seattle Times, pgs 20-21. Page 20 talks about a local program in Nicaragua to help with maternal health for the desperately poor women in the local area. The last picture of the story shows one of the homes of the women, a shack really with a tin roof, saying that 73% of homes lack a sanitary water supply.

On the opposite page, is the ending of the weekly series the Times features regarding unique homes, usually with transformitive remodels. The beautiful downstairs room is shown with exercise room and wine refrigerator.

I couldn't scan the facing pages on my scanner so you have to believe me....

Just saying..

I came roaring down to the Wallingford Tully's to meet with Bebette and Meryl because they wanted to know about my trip. I get there at 1pm. Where's my peeps? At 1:15 I call Bebette who informs me that *I* set the meeting for 2pm. Oh. Yeah. Right. Now I remember. My fault. And I have a 3pm team meeting. Bebette says she'll come right down.

Pictures to be posted when I get home...
